Imagine getting the gift of time?

Whilst for some of us this time of lockdown has eaten up more time and made us even busier. For others of us, suddenly we have time. Perhaps we're on furlough? Perhaps all the activities we normally fill our week with or have our week filled by have all been removed.

If you have received the gift of time, how will you use it?

Will the garden get your attention?

Perhaps some DIY around the house?

What about your soul?

Let's not waste this time and neglect to focus on areas of our heart or life that really need some attention. Now, there is time to re-start daily Bible reading and prayer. https://www.thegoodbook.co.uk/daily-bible-reading/

Perhaps you are facing lockdown on your own? Why not reach out to someone and commit to watching the webinars I flagged last week, then meet over video chat to reflect on what you've heard? They really are well worth a watch.

- How to face anxiety

- How to pray

- How to face our fragility

For some of us, perhaps lockdown is adding extra pressure at home. Why not seek God's help in those tensions? And use this time to seek his help to move forwards.

We've used Paul Tripp's teaching on marriage and parenting over the past few years.

He has two courses which you can buy online, and then use at any point for the next 12 months. This might take courage to decide to do together, but the investment will be well worth it. https://www.paultripp.com/livestream-events

Or... not quite as biblically applied, but bringing helpful practical advice is the Marriage Course which is currently free to download. https://themarriagecourse.org/

Finally, we worked through this article as Staff and as Elders this week: https://fiec.org.uk/resources/what-is-god-teaching-us-through-coronavirus Written by John Steven's it's a helpful model of what questions to ask in times of suffering.

If we've been given it, let's make the most of the gift of time over the next few weeks.
