Monday Meditation

What can I pray for myself and others at the moment? Over the following Mondays, we're going to look at some of the prayers that the apostle Paul prayed for the churches that he wrote to. Below are two prayers that Paul was praying for the church in Ephesus. Why not take a few minutes to take in what he prayed, to pray it for yourself and to pray it for someone else? I've underlined the goal of each prayer.

"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe." (Ephesians 1:17-19)

What a difference it will make at the moment if we know God better and if we know the hope to which he has called us!
